Our story
We take your scraps and give back living soil.
GreenLoop Composting Co. started in 2016 with one pickup truck, 30 buckets and a simple promise: take every scrap we are given and return something better than we received. Nine years later, that promise has diverted more than 12,000 tons of food waste from the landfill.
We are still family-owned, still answer our own phones, and still turn every bucket by hand until it becomes compost we are proud to put our name on. When you compost with GreenLoop, you are not paying for a service — you are joining a loop.

What we stand for
The values under every pile
Four principles that have carried us through nine seasons of food scraps, rain and harvests.
Soil first
Every decision starts with one question: does this build soil? Healthy soil grows healthy food, cleans water and cools the planet.
True circularity
We do not just collect scraps — we close the loop, returning finished compost to the very gardens and farms that feed us.
Community powered
Founded by the Okafor family in 2016, still run day-to-day by the same family, with 4,800+ households and 200+ businesses in the loop.
